Southern Star Airlines is a domestic airline based in Juba, the capital of South Sudan.[2]

The airline's inaugural flight took place on 20 August 2011.[3]

From its hub at Juba Airport its destinations are Malakal, Rumbek, Aweil and Wau.[4]

The airline's fleet, as at September 2011, consists of one Bombardier Dash 8 (registration 5Y-BZI)[5] leased from ALS Ltd. of Nairobi, Kenya.[6]

The company has plans to expand the fleet with an Embraer ERJ-145, also leased from ALS Ltd.,[8] which it will use to expand its routes to international destinations in the region.[9]
